MODAREC'S SYNKRONI2EDSLEAZE2 MIX 2002 by modarec
This is a live dj set from MODAREC mixed with vinyl, on 2 X Technics 1210's onto Minidisc (remember those?) and then transfered to mp3 back in 2002. My mind is too hazy/dead to recollect any further details except it was a house party in Manchester. There's probably a few fluffs in there and i think it might be this set where some tool bumped the decks and caused a few seconds of dead air. I could have edited it out on Soundforge but it wouldn't be in the true spirit of DJ'ing so its a full set warts and all.
As for the tracklisting, theres a lot of Vitalic, Felix Da Housecat, Int. DJ Gigolos, Zombie Nation , Peaches, David Caretta etc etc. If theres any specific tracks anyone wants the name of, drop me a comment and I'll try my best to remember. These tracks were from golden age of the electro/electroclash boom, well before the genre lost it's way and had pop/pap acts copying the Italo basslines and synthesized arps.
It's strange to hear how relevant most of this still sounds now. Not sure if thats good or bad, it could mean the genre hasn't really moved on in nearly 10 years or it could mean that these tracks were simply ahead of their time. Vitalic's "Poney pt 1." blew me away back then and still continues to do so now, I don't think any other electro/techno track has come near it in 9 years and I can remember buying 2 copies when it was released just so I could give a copy to THE JAFFA KID. In true fanboy style I now have 3 copies of the original pressing, the remastered version of the e.p. just didnt sound the same . Anyway this is the first of two sets, the second will be posted at a later date. Enjoy..............
